2019

Graphene 3D project at European Night of Scientists (MSCA) in Sofia, 27 Sept 2019

On 27 Sept 2019, in Sofia was organized the largest MSCA event European Night of Scientists. The H2020-MSCA-RISE Graphene 3D project was presented in a stand by young researchers from OLEM, Dr. Ivanka Petrova and Dr. Dzhihan Menseidov. The interest of general public in Sofia to the project research was amazing.

at IMech-BAS

  • On 7 September 2018, Prof. Rumiana Kotsilkova has presented the H2020-MSCA-RISE Graphene 3D project at official Delegation of six responsible research directors and leading researchers from Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province, Research Centers, Institutes, and Sichuan Academy of Sciences visiting the Institute of Mechanics.

    Program of their visit has included also presentations on the main achievements of the Institute, given by Prof. Vasil Kavardzhikov - director of IMech and other researchers.

    The leader of Sichuan Delegation. Mr. Jing Shigang - Deputy Director-General of Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province, has presented the capacity of Sichuan Province in technological and scientific level. A discussion on collaboration possibilities between Sichuan Province and the Institute of Mechanics was performed.

    A meeting with acad. Rivalski - president of BAS was organized in the afternoon session.

  • Two seconded researchers from IMech-BAS (Dr. Dzihan Menseidov and Polya Angelova, PhD student), and two from NanoTechLab (Dr. Evgeni Ivanov and Dr. Vladimir Georgiev), together with Rosa di Maio (ESR from IPCB-CNR), have participated in the 17th Western China Overseas High tech And High Talents Conference (OHTC), September 10 - 12, 2018, organized in two big cities, Chengdu and Ludzhu, in China. We are thankful to Prof. Hesheng Xia from Sichuan University (our TC partner), who has organized this important dissemination activity of the Graphene 3D project.

    At the opening ceremony, five Nobel Prize winners, 18 academics from home and abroad, 148 overseas start-ups and about 800 distinguished guests attended the event, to brainstorm and share ideas on hi-tech innovation and entrepreneurship. The 3-day event offered a variety of activities, including Sichuan Forum, a signing ceremony for overseas talents.

    Two presentations on Graphene 3D project have been given by the seconded researchers Dr. Evgeni Ivanov and Rosa di Maio.

40 Years Institute of Mechanics, a solemn session at 7 November 2017 in Sofia, Bulgaria

  • Rumiana Kotsilkova presented a special report devoted to the Project H2020-MSCA-RISE-734164 Graphene 3D at the 40-th anniversary of the Institute of Mechanics-BAS and 55 years since the beginning of the organized studies on mechanics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, held on November 7, 2017. More than 300 Bulgarian researchers have participated in this event. Representatives of the von Karman Institute (VKI), Belgium, were invited as guests. After the project presentation the guests from VKI, Prof. Jeroen van Beeckand and Prof. Herman Deconinck, visited the OLEM Laboratories for Nanocomposite processing, Rheology and Thermal Analysis and Micro& NanoMechanics. Fruitful discussion on the Graphene 3D project and was performed.

  • Academic Press (in Bulgarian): 
    Bulgarian and foreign scientists discussed the achievements of the Graphene 3D project
    Tuesday 25 July 2017
    30 scientists from nine research teams have participated in the International meeting on "Multifunctional nanocomposites based on graphite with robust electromagnetic and thermal properties for 3D printing application", which took place from 17th to 21st July 2017 at the Institute of Mechanics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The meeting was held within the framework of the Graphene 3D project, funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020-MSCA-RISE Program.

  • TV channel ONT broadcast on 20 January 2017
    January 30, 2017 on the TV channel ONT broadcast an issue of the talk show "The Case of Principle", dedicated to the problems and prospects of Belarusian science with the invoted guest Sergey Maksimenko (Director of INP BSU) took place. Prof. Maksimenko adverised participation of INP BSU team in the EU funded projects, including Graphene 3D.

Graphene 3D Project at Open Days

  • Graphene 3D project presented at Open/Carrier Day on 16 May 2018
    On 16 th May 2018, a Carrier Day was organized at the Technical University of Sofia. The PhD student Ivanka Petrova from IMech-BAS has presented the Graphene 3D poster and met students from Department of Physics to present her activities and carrier development within the frame of H2020-RISE-734164 Graphene 3D.

Plan for Dissemination and Public Activities

  • Graphene 3D will be advertised during The XIV-th International School-Conference The Actual Problems of Microworld Physics, Grodno, Belarus, August 12-24, 2018
  • In September 2018, the University of Namur will organize an exhibition on the ongoing H2020 research project. The exhibition, which will stay for one month, is intended to the general public and school students. A 90s video clip is under preparation to explain what the project is about (in French with English subtitles)
  • at CNR a new page will be created in the IPCB institutional site
  • At NARRANDO there is a plan to profit of all technical and scientific events in which the project can be presented. We plan to write one page on “Platinum”, a techno-economic-scientific journal for presenting Graphene 3D
